Temporary residence in Canada
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada IRCC accepts 300,000 immigrants to Canada every year, mainly under the Economic Class and Family Reunification Class programs.
Economic program (Economic Class)
Professionals and skilled workers who wish to obtain permanent residence in Canada must be eligible to immigrate to Canada through the economic program. That is why the main factors for choosing all economic programs are appropriate education, work experience in a demanding job and language abilities under one of Canada’s official languages.
IRCC administers Canada’s federal skilled worker immigration programs using the Express Entry system. To enter this system, applicants who are eligible to enter the Express Entry system create and submit a profile in the Express Entry system under one of Canada’s 3 federal immigration programs:
1. Federal Skilled Worker Program
2. Federal Skilled Trades, Canadian Experience Class.
3. Provincial nomination (PNP)
Candidates are all entered into the Express Entry pool in a general competition and compete against each other according to a community scoring system. Candidates who have the highest ranking will receive an invitation letter from this system to apply for permanent residence in Canada.
Candidates have 3 months to prove their claim in the Express Entry system for evaluated invoices and upload the requested information in the system. The Canadian government will immigrate to their case in less than 6 months.
Note that the province of Quebec has considered its immigration programs under the Quebec Skilled Worker and Quebec Experience Class programs for immigrants.
In addition to the points mentioned above, in addition, economy class includes various business and investment programs. Some business immigration programs such as Quebec Immigrant Investor Program (QIIP), Quebec Entrepreneurship Program, Quebec Self-Employment, Federal Immigrant Investor Investment Program (IIVC) and Federal Start-up Visa Program are among the official ways to immigrate to Quebec.
Meanwhile, provincial nominee entrepreneur programs have a two-step process for permanent residency: applicants are first selected or nominated by a province if they meet the program’s requirements. Based on that selection or nomination, they can apply to Citizenship and Immigration Canada for permanent residence.
Wealthy business immigrants may also buy or establish a new business in Canada and be eligible for a temporary work visa. After some time, qualified applicants may be eligible to apply for permanent residence under a provincial candidate class program or under the Express Entry system.
